The Computer Operator is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and maintaining computer systems, networks, and related equipment to ensure smooth and efficient business operations. This role involves running system tasks, troubleshooting errors, performing data backups, and providing technical support to end users.
Monitor computer systems, servers, and network performance to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Operate and manage batch processing jobs, scheduled tasks, and automated system workflows.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and system failures.
Maintain logs of system operations, errors, downtime, and maintenance activities.
Perform routine data backups, restores, and file management tasks.
Install and update software applications, patches, and system configurations as required.
Assist users with basic IT support, including login issues, printer errors, and application troubleshooting.
Coordinate with the IT team for system upgrades, disaster recovery, and security improvements.
Ensure data security and compliance with organizational IT policies.
Maintain inventory of computer equipment and manage routine maintenance.
High school diploma or bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Proven experience as a computer operator, IT support technician, or similar role.
Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and basic networking.
Familiarity with system monitoring tools, batch processing, and backup software.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to work in shifts, including nights or weekends (if required).
