Job Summary

The Computer Operator in a consultancy environment is responsible for ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, supporting consultants with technical needs, managing data processing tasks, and maintaining accurate digital records. This role supports the firm s project teams by ensuring timely availability of data, reports, and system resources.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate computer systems used for consultancy projects, data analysis, and reporting.

  • Maintain and update databases, client files, and project documentation.

  • Assist consultants with technical tasks such as generating reports, formatting documents, and retrieving data.

  • Perform regular system backups and ensure secure storage of client information.

  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues and escalate to IT support when necessary.

  • Manage email systems, document management tools, and internal communication platforms.

  • Prepare daily/weekly system logs, performance reports, and incident documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality requirements for client projects.

  • Support virtual meetings, presentations, and remote collaboration tools.

  • Coordinate with IT and administrative teams for system upgrades and technical support.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma in IT or Computer Science preferred.

  • Basic understanding of computer operations, office software, and data management.

  • Experience working in a consultancy or service-oriented environment is an advantage.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

  • Good communication and customer-service skills.


Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of document management systems and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace).

  • Basic troubleshooting knowledge of networks, printers, and office equipment.

  • Familiarity with creating and formatting professional reports.

  • Ability to multitask and support multiple consultancy teams.
