**Job Summary**
The Food Store Staff is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining store cleanliness, handling merchandise, and ensuring that all food items are displayed, stored, and handled according to safety standards. The role involves assisting customers, operating the cash register, restocking shelves, and supporting day-to-day store operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Customer Service**
* Greet customers, answer questions, and provide product recommendations.
* Assist customers in locating items and provide a positive shopping experience.
* Handle customer concerns or direct them to the supervisor when needed.
**Sales & Cash Handling**
* Operate cash register and point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
* Process payments, refunds, and exchanges following store policies.
* Maintain an organized and accurate cash drawer.
**Store Operations**
* Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and ensure product freshness.
* Check expiration dates and remove outdated or damaged items.
* Ensure shelves, aisles, and displays are clean, organized, and well maintained.
* Assist with receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries.
**Food Safety & Hygiene**
* Follow food safety guidelines and sanitary practices.
* Maintain cleanliness in work areas, including counters, equipment, and storage rooms.
* Use proper handling techniques for perishable and non-perishable items.
**Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
* Previous experience in retail or food service (optional but an asset).
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
