The IBR (Indian Boiler Regulations) Welder is responsible for welding, fabricating, and maintaining pressure vessels, boilers, and other high-pressure equipment in compliance with safety standards and IBR guidelines. The role ensures high-quality welds, structural integrity, and adherence to statutory regulations.
Perform welding on boilers, pressure vessels, pipes, and related components as per IBR standards
Interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
Conduct TIG, MIG, ARC, or Gas welding as required
Inspect and test welds for quality, strength, and compliance
Repair and maintain boiler components and pressure vessels
Follow safety procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, and IBR regulations
Maintain welding tools, equipment, and consumables
Prepare welding reports and maintain records as per quality control standards
Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve fabrication issues
ITI / Diploma in Welding, Mechanical, or related trade
Certification in IBR welding (mandatory for boiler work)
Proficient in TIG, MIG, ARC, or Gas welding
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Knowledge of boiler fabrication standards and pressure vessel safety norms
Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and strong problem-solving skills
1 5 years of experience in IBR welding or pressure vessel fabrication
Experience in industrial boiler manufacturing or heavy engineering is an advantag
