Job Title: 3G & 4G Welder

Job Summary

The 3G & 4G Welder is responsible for performing welding operations in vertical (3G) and overhead (4G) positions on structural components, pipelines, and pressure vessels. The role ensures high-quality, safe, and code-compliant welds in industrial and construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform 3G (vertical) and 4G (overhead) welding on steel structures, pipelines, and equipment

  • Use welding processes such as SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), and GMAW (MIG) as required

  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and welding procedure specifications (WPS)

  • Inspect and test welds for quality, strength, and compliance with standards

  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables

  • Follow safety guidelines, PPE usage, and workplace protocols

  • Record welding operations, materials used, and inspection reports

  • Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to ensure timely project completion

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • ITI / Diploma in Welding or related trade

  • Certification in 3G & 4G welding (mandatory)

  • Proficiency in welding in vertical and overhead positions

  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow WPS

  • Knowledge of safety standards and industrial welding practices

  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail

Experience

  • 1 5 years of experience in industrial, construction, or fabrication welding

  • Experience in pressure vessels, pipelines, or heavy engineering is an advantage

Work Environment

  • Workshop, fabrication yard, or industrial site

  • May require working at heights and in challenging positions
