The 3G & 4G Welder is responsible for performing welding operations in vertical (3G) and overhead (4G) positions on structural components, pipelines, and pressure vessels. The role ensures high-quality, safe, and code-compliant welds in industrial and construction environments.
Perform 3G (vertical) and 4G (overhead) welding on steel structures, pipelines, and equipment
Use welding processes such as SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), and GMAW (MIG) as required
Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and welding procedure specifications (WPS)
Inspect and test welds for quality, strength, and compliance with standards
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables
Follow safety guidelines, PPE usage, and workplace protocols
Record welding operations, materials used, and inspection reports
Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to ensure timely project completion
ITI / Diploma in Welding or related trade
Certification in 3G & 4G welding (mandatory)
Proficiency in welding in vertical and overhead positions
Ability to read technical drawings and follow WPS
Knowledge of safety standards and industrial welding practices
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
1 5 years of experience in industrial, construction, or fabrication welding
Experience in pressure vessels, pipelines, or heavy engineering is an advantage
Workshop, fabrication yard, or industrial site
May require working at heights and in challenging positions
