A Hotel Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for guests. They are responsible for creating a welcoming environment, managing check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and assisting guests with inquiries and requests to ensure a pleasant stay.
Guest Services
Welcome guests upon arrival and ensure a smooth check-in/check-out process.
Provide information about hotel services, room rates, and local attractions.
Handle guest complaints or requests in a professional and timely manner.
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance for room readiness or issues.
Reservations & Administrative Tasks
Manage room reservations via phone, email, and booking systems.
Maintain accurate records of guest information and payments.
Process billing and payments, issue invoices, and manage cash or card transactions.
Maintain the front desk area s cleanliness and order.
Communication & Coordination
Liaise with other departments (housekeeping, food service, management) to ensure smooth operations.
Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and relay messages efficiently.
Assist with guest transportation, wake-up calls, or special requests.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Degree in Hospitality Management preferred).
Experience: Prior front desk or customer service experience (1 2 years preferred).
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Cloudbeds, Fidelio).
Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
Basic accounting and computer literacy (MS Office).
Professional appearance and friendly attitude.
Languages: Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
