Job Overview

A Hotel Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for guests. They are responsible for creating a welcoming environment, managing check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and assisting guests with inquiries and requests to ensure a pleasant stay.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Guest Services

    • Welcome guests upon arrival and ensure a smooth check-in/check-out process.

    • Provide information about hotel services, room rates, and local attractions.

    • Handle guest complaints or requests in a professional and timely manner.

    • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance for room readiness or issues.

  2. Reservations & Administrative Tasks

    • Manage room reservations via phone, email, and booking systems.

    • Maintain accurate records of guest information and payments.

    • Process billing and payments, issue invoices, and manage cash or card transactions.

    • Maintain the front desk area s cleanliness and order.

  3. Communication & Coordination

    • Liaise with other departments (housekeeping, food service, management) to ensure smooth operations.

    • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and relay messages efficiently.

    • Assist with guest transportation, wake-up calls, or special requests.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Degree in Hospitality Management preferred).

  • Experience: Prior front desk or customer service experience (1 2 years preferred).

  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Proficient in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Cloudbeds, Fidelio).

    • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.

    • Basic accounting and computer literacy (MS Office).

    • Professional appearance and friendly attitude.

  • Languages: Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
