Retail Store Manager

Department:

Retail / Store Operations / Sales

Job Purpose:

To oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail store, drive sales, manage staff, and ensure an excellent shopping experience for customers while achieving business targets.


Key Responsibilities:

Store Operations:

  • Manage daily store operations including opening, closing, and cash handling

  • Maintain store appearance, merchandising, and stock levels

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards

Sales & Performance:

  • Achieve sales targets, KPIs, and profitability goals

  • Analyze sales performance and implement strategies to improve revenue

  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends

Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise store staff (salespersons, cashiers, support staff)

  • Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and conduct appraisals

  • Motivate team to achieve sales and service excellence

Customer Experience:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and resolve complaints effectively

  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements

Inventory & Stock Management:

  • Oversee stock levels, replenishment, and inventory audits

  • Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams

  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and display of merchandise

Reporting & Administration:

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operational reports

  • Manage store expenses and budget adherence
