A Weighbridge Operator is responsible for accurately operating and maintaining the weighbridge system, recording the weights of vehicles and their loads, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures. This role supports logistics, material handling, inventory control, and regulatory compliance within the facility.
Operate weighbridge equipment to weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles reliably and accurately.
Ensure vehicles are properly positioned, and transport weights are measured before and after loading/unloading.
Monitor and record gross weight, tare weight, and calculate net weight as required.
Maintain detailed logs and records of weights, vehicle numbers, material details, and times.
Enter accurate weighing information into computer systems or registers.
Issue weighbridge tickets, slips, or certificates as per company procedures.
Coordinate with drivers, transporters, warehouse, loading teams, and supervisors for smooth traffic flow and timely operations.
Communicate any weight discrepancies, overloads, or irregularities to management.
Provide clear instructions to vehicle drivers during weighing processes.
Perform basic maintenance and calibration checks on weighbridge equipment to ensure accuracy.
Ensure the weighbridge area is clean, safe, and free from obstructions.
Follow safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company procedures.
Prepare daily or periodic weighing reports for management review.
Assist in audits or inspections by providing accurate weight data and documentation.
Support inventory control by validating material weights and recording data accurately.
Education: Usually high school diploma (12th pass) or equivalent; some roles prefer additional vocational training or relevant experience.
Experience: Prior experience in weighbridge operation, logistics, or related roles is an asset.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with weighbridge equipment and digital weighing systems.
Basic computer and data entry skills.
