Job Summary

The Section Officer is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily activities within an assigned section to ensure operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, production targets, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations within the assigned section

• Ensure work is performed according to approved plans, procedures, and schedules

• Allocate manpower, equipment, and resources effectively

• Monitor production or logistics performance and report deviations

• Coordinate with other sections (operations, maintenance, safety, logistics)

• Ensure proper record keeping, shift reports, and operational documentation

• Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions

• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the section

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Enforce safety rules, procedures, and safe work practices

• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and inspections

• Ensure compliance with statutory and company HSE requirements

• Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions

• Promote a strong safety culture among workers and contractors

Personnel Management

• Supervise and guide operators, technicians, and contractors

• Monitor attendance, discipline, and performance

• Provide on-the-job training and coaching

• Ensure effective communication across shifts

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor s degree in Mining Engineering, Logistics, Mechanical, or related field

• 2 4 years of experience in mining, logistics, or industrial operations

• Previous supervisory experience preferred
