**Job Description: Rider Organ Transfer (Laboratory / Transplant Unit)**
**Position Summary**
The Rider for Organ Transfer is responsible for the **safe, timely, and secure transportation of human organs, tissues, biological specimens, and critical medical supplies** between hospitals, laboratories, and transplant centers. The role requires strict adherence to medical transport protocols, temperature-controlled handling, and documentation procedures to ensure integrity and compliance with regulatory standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Safely transport organs, tissues, blood samples, and laboratory specimens as assigned.
* Ensure all transported materials are kept in **temperature-controlled conditions** following established protocols.
* Collect and deliver items between hospitals, labs, donation centers, and operating theaters within required timeframes.
* Maintain continuous communication with dispatch, lab personnel, and receiving units.
* Verify and document chain-of-custody forms for each transfer.
* Handle specimens with extreme care, ensuring no contamination, damage, or delay.
* Conduct pre-ride checks to ensure vehicle is clean, functional, fuelled, and equipped with proper transport containers.
* Follow all road-safety rules and prioritize emergency deliveries.
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and regulatory guidelines (including HIPAA or local equivalents).
* Report delays, incidents, or issues immediately to the supervisor.
* Assist in organising and maintaining transport equipment and coolers.
**Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
* Valid motorcycle or vehicle driving licence with a clean driving record.
* Experience in courier services, medical delivery, or emergency logistics is an advantage.
* Ability to handle time-sensitive and high-pressure tasks.
* Basic understanding of hygiene and biosafety practices (training will be provided).
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Physically fit and able to lift items up to required limits.
