**Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Plant Operations**
**Job Summary**
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and equipment within the plant. This role involves troubleshooting machinery issues, optimizing equipment performance, supporting preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and assisting in engineering projects that improve safety, efficiency, and productivity.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability**
* Monitor and analyze the performance of mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, boilers, HVAC systems, valves, and rotating equipment.
* Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
* Develop and update preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
* Support root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurring equipment failures.
**2. Plant Engineering & Technical Support**
* Provide engineering support to maintenance and operations teams.
* Prepare and update mechanical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
* Ensure mechanical systems comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
* Participate in the commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
**3. Project Planning & Execution**
* Lead or assist with mechanical engineering projects, including equipment installation, system upgrades, and process improvements.
* Create project scopes, cost estimates, technical specifications, and schedules.
* Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
**4. Safety & Compliance**
* Ensure plant equipment and operations comply with OSHA and local safety standards.
* Support implementation of safety protocols, risk assessments, and hazard analyses.
* Promote a strong safety culture throughout the plant.
**5. Continuous Improvement**
* Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance costs.
* Implement mechanical process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
* Contribute to energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
**Qualifications**
**Education & Experience**
* Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
* 2 5 years of experience in an industrial plant, manufacturing site, refinery, or similar environment (preferred).
**Skills & Competencies**
* Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
* Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
