Role Purpose

The IT Head is responsible for defining, implementing, and managing the organization s IT strategy, infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity to support business operations, growth, and digital transformation. The role ensures reliability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of IT systems.


Key Responsibilities

1. IT Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and execute IT strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Establish IT policies, standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.

  • Drive digital transformation and technology innovation initiatives.

2. Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Oversee IT infrastructure including servers, networks, data centers, cloud platforms, and end-user computing.

  • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of systems.

  • Manage ERP, CRM, HRMS, and other business applications.

3. Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Define and implement cybersecurity strategy and controls.

  • Ensure data security, privacy, backup, and disaster recovery.

  • Manage IT audits, risk assessments, and compliance (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc., as applicable).

4. Application & Digital Solutions

  • Lead implementation, upgrade, and integration of enterprise applications.

  • Support automation, analytics, and digital tools to improve operational efficiency.

  • Coordinate with business teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

5. IT Operations & Service Delivery

  • Ensure effective IT service management and user support (helpdesk, SLAs).

  • Monitor system performance and resolve major incidents and outages.

  • Implement ITIL or similar best practices for service management.

6. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and manage IT managers, engineers, developers, and support staff.

  • Plan manpower, training, and skill development programs.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

7. Vendor & Budget Management

  • Manage IT budgets (CAPEX & OPEX) and optimize technology costs.

  • Evaluate, select, and manage vendors, system integrators, and service providers.

  • Negotiate contracts, licenses, and service agreements.

8. Business Continuity & Compliance

  • Establish disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and internal audit requirements.

  • Maintain documentation, system architecture, and operational procedures.
