Department: Production / Maintenance
Reports To: Shift Incharge / Supervisor
The Fitter (SID) is responsible for assembly, fitting, installation, and maintenance of mechanical components and equipment as per drawings, SOPs, and safety standards. The role ensures smooth operation of machines and timely completion of assigned jobs.
Perform fitting, assembly, and disassembly of mechanical parts and sub-assemblies
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, job cards, and work instructions
Carry out installation, alignment, and commissioning of equipment
Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs of machines and tools
Identify faults and report major issues to the Shift Incharge or Maintenance team
Use hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring instruments accurately
Ensure proper tightening, alignment, and finishing of fitted components
Follow safety guidelines and use PPE during all operations
Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S standards at the workplace
Record work done in job cards / maintenance logs
Support breakdown maintenance and emergency repairs during shifts
Good knowledge of fitting tools, techniques, and mechanical components
Ability to read basic engineering drawings and tolerances
Understanding of machine parts, bearings, shafts, couplings, etc.
Basic troubleshooting skills
Awareness of safety practices and SOPs
Teamwork and discipline on the shop floor
ITI Fitter (preferred)
10th / 12th pass with relevant experience may also be considered
1 5 years of experience in manufacturing or maintenance
Freshers with ITI Fitter certification may be considered
Shop-floor environment
Rotational shifts
Exposure to noise, heat, and mechanical equipment
Interview, Any, 1 - 2 year experince, ITI.
