Job Title: Middle School English Teacher

Job Summary

The Middle School English Teacher ising. responsible for teaching students in grades 6 8 core English Language Arts skills, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and critical think. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive learning environment that helps students develop strong literacy skills and a love for reading and writing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate English Language Arts lessons aligned with curriculum standards

  • Teach reading comprehension, writing (narrative, informational, and argumentative), grammar, vocabulary, and speaking skills

  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and discussion through literature and writing activities

  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, quizzes, and exams

  • Provide constructive feedback to support student growth

  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

  • Collaborate with other teachers, counselors, and administrators

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master s preferred where applicable)

  • Valid teaching certification/license for middle school (as required by local regulations)

  • Strong knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum and standards

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • Ability to work effectively with middle school aged students

  • Commitment to student-centered learning and continuous professional growth
