To operate, monitor, and maintain the Demineralization (DM) water plant ensuring a continuous supply of high-purity water for boilers, turbines, and other process requirements in the steel and power plant. Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
Operation & Monitoring:
Operate DM plant equipment including filters, ion exchange vessels, pumps, valves, and control panels.
Monitor water quality parameters (pH, conductivity, TDS, hardness) and take corrective actions as needed.
Maintain daily logs of plant operations, chemical usage, and process parameters.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform routine preventive maintenance of pumps, valves, resin beds, and instrumentation.
Identify and troubleshoot process or equipment issues to minimize downtime.
Coordinate with mechanical/electrical teams for repairs or replacements.
Chemical Handling:
Handle and store chemicals (acid, caustic, antiscalants, etc.) safely.
Ensure proper dosing in the water treatment process.
Compliance & Safety:
Adhere strictly to plant safety rules, environmental regulations, and SOPs.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe operations around high-pressure and high-temperature systems.
Coordination:
Liaise with boiler/turbine/steam plant teams for water quality requirements.
Assist in audits, inspections, and quality checks.
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent experience.
1 5 years experience in DM plants, water treatment, or power plant operations (for junior roles).
