The Coal Logistics Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of coal from mine sites to customers, ports, or power plants. The role ensures efficient, safe, and cost-effective transportation while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Plan and coordinate coal transportation from pit to stockpile, port, power plant, or customer location
Manage daily logistics operations including trucking, rail, barge, or conveyor systems
Monitor coal stock levels, blending requirements, and loading schedules
Coordinate with mining operations, contractors, transport providers, and port authorities
Ensure on-time delivery according to production and sales schedules
Track shipments, prepare dispatch documentation, and maintain logistics records
Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Investigate and resolve logistics delays, losses, or quality issues
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics performance reports
Enforce company safety policies and procedures across all logistics activities
Ensure safe loading, hauling, and unloading of coal
Report and participate in incident investigations
Promote a strong safety culture within logistics operations
Diploma or Bachelor s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Mining Engineering, or related field
2 5 years of experience in coal logistics, mining operations, or bulk material handling
