The CNC Designer is responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs and technical drawings used in the manufacturing of precision components. The role involves translating engineering designs into machine-readable instructions while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with quality standards.
Create and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software
Develop 2D and 3D technical drawings for CNC machining
Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining processes
Optimize CNC programs to improve productivity and reduce waste
Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production teams
Ensure designs meet customer specifications and quality standards
Conduct simulations and troubleshoot machining issues
Maintain and update design documentation and revision records
Support prototype development and production runs
Ensure compliance with safety and manufacturing standards
Diploma or Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, CNC Technology, or related field
Proven experience as a CNC Designer, CNC Programmer, or similar role
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam, Fusion 360)
Strong understanding of CNC machining processes (milling, turning, drilling)
Knowledge of GD&T and technical drawings
Familiarity with CNC machines and tooling
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
