Job Title:

Engineer Boiler Operator

Job Purpose:

To operate, monitor, and maintain boiler systems safely and efficiently to ensure continuous steam and power generation while complying with safety and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Boiler Operation:

• Operate and monitor boilers (CFBC / AFBC / PF / Package Boilers) as per standard operating procedures

• Control combustion parameters, steam pressure, temperature, drum level, and fuel feed

• Perform safe boiler startup, shutdown, and load adjustments

• Monitor DCS / PLC systems and field instruments

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with boiler safety rules and statutory regulations

• Follow permit-to-work, lockout/tagout, and safety procedures

• Conduct regular safety checks and emergency handling as per SOPs

• Ensure operation as per Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE) / statutory norms (where applicable)

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Identify operational abnormalities and take corrective action

• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams for breakdown maintenance

• Support preventive maintenance, inspections, and shutdown activities

• Assist in root cause analysis of boiler trips and failures

Efficiency & Performance:

• Monitor boiler efficiency, fuel consumption, and heat rate

• Optimize combustion to reduce fuel loss and emissions

• Control blowdown, ash handling, and feed water parameter
