Job Summary

A Medical Representative (MR) is responsible for promoting and selling the company s pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals, including doctors, pharmacists, and hospitals. The role involves building strong customer relationships, generating sales, achieving targets, and representing the company professionally in the healthcare market.


Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Promotion

  • Promote and sell pharmaceutical products to doctors, clinics, and pharmacies.

  • Present product features, benefits, and usage to healthcare professionals.

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, pharmacists, and hospital staff.

  • Follow up on healthcare professionals feedback and requirements.

  • Conduct regular visits to assigned territories.

3. Product Knowledge

  • Maintain deep understanding of assigned products, therapeutic areas, and competitors offerings.

  • Attend training sessions and stay updated with current medical and market trends.

4. Territory Management

  • Plan and execute daily field activities to maximize coverage.

  • Maintain an updated database of customers and visits.

  • Analyze territory sales performance and prepare reports.

5. Marketing & Reporting

  • Implement marketing strategies and campaigns in the field.

  • Organize CMEs (Continuing Medical Education), doctor meetings, and promotional events.

  • Submit daily call reports, weekly plans, and monthly business reviews.

6. Compliance

  • Adhere to industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and healthcare professional information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Nursing, or related fields (preferred)

  • Experience in pharmaceutical sales is an advantage but not always required

  • Valid driving license (in most field-based roles)
