An Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining a company s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The role focuses on financial reporting, bookkeeping, budgeting, and auditing to support business decisions and maintain financial health.
Accurate Financial Record-Keeping
Maintain up-to-date and error-free financial records.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and categorized.
Timely Reporting & Compliance
Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
File tax returns and ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
Budgeting & Expense Control
Prepare budgets and monitor expenditures to control costs.
Analyze variances between budgeted and actual figures.
Payroll & Vendor Management
Process employee salaries, deductions, and reimbursements accurately.
Manage vendor payments and maintain accounts payable/receivable records.
Audit Support & Financial Analysis
Assist during internal and external audits.
Analyze financial data to provide insights for business improvement.
Data Accuracy & Confidentiality
Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of all accounting data.
Record daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, payments).
Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts.
Prepare and file GST, TDS, PF, and ESI returns (as applicable).
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Manage petty cash and daily accounting operations.
Support management in preparing financial forecasts and cost analysis.
Handle invoice generation and follow-up on payments.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Zoho Books, or MS Excel)
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
