Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join the finance team at [Jewelry Shop Name]. The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires someone with strong numerical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, and expenses related to jewelry inventory and operations.

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring all invoices are processed, payments are made on time, and receipts are recorded correctly.

  • Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile the shop's bank accounts to ensure that all transactions are recorded properly and discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.

  • Inventory Accounting: Assist with inventory management by tracking purchases, sales, and stock adjustments. Ensure that inventory-related financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and provide insights on financial performance.

  • Tax Filing & Compliance: Ensure that all taxes (GST, VAT, etc.) are calculated correctly, filed on time, and comply with local regulations. Coordinate with auditors for annual audits.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance against the budget and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures or improvements.

  • Payroll Management: Ensure accurate processing of employee payroll, including deductions, bonuses, and tax calculations. Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.

  • Financial Audits: Coordinate with external auditors for periodic audits and provide all required financial documentation and support during the audit process.

  • Cost Analysis: Analyze financial data related to jewelry purchases, production costs, and sales trends to provide valuable insights to the management team.

  • Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to financial internal controls, and maintain confidentiality and security of all financial documents and records.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
