**Security Guard Job Description
**Summary**
The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and property. This role involves monitoring premises, conducting security patrols, responding to incidents, enforcing company policies, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and vehicles.
* Conduct regular patrols of buildings, facilities, and grounds to detect and prevent signs of intrusion, fire hazards, or safety concerns.
* Observe and report suspicious behavior, security breaches, or irregularities.
* Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents; take appropriate action according to procedures.
* Maintain accurate records such as incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol checklists.
* Ensure all security equipment (CCTV, access control, alarms) is functioning properly and report malfunctions.
* Enforce company policies, rules, and regulations to maintain order and safety.
* Assist visitors, employees, and contractors by providing directions, information, and support as needed.
* Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and management when required.
* Perform crowd control duties during events or high-traffic periods.
**Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
* Previous security or customer service experience preferred.
* Valid security license or certification (according to local requirements).
* Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
* First Aid/CPR certification is an advantage.

* Strong observation and attention to detail.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations.
* Physical ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
* Basic computer skills (for logging reports and using security systems).

**Work Environment**
* Shift-based work (days, nights, weekends, holidays).
* Indoor and outdoor assignments.
* Exposure to various weather conditions depending on site.
