Job Title: Accountant Logistics Division

Department: Finance / Logistics
Reports To: Finance Manager / Logistics Head

Job Purpose:

To manage and oversee all financial transactions related to the logistics operations, ensuring accurate accounting, timely reporting, and compliance with company policies and statutory regulations. Support efficient cost management and financial analysis for the logistics division.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Financial Management:

   • Maintain accurate records of all logistics-related transactions, including transportation, warehousing, freight, and customs charges.

   • Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger maintenance specific to the logistics division.

   • Track and verify vendor invoices, payments, and advances related to logistics.

2. Cost Control & Analysis:

   • Analyze logistics costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and prepare regular cost reports.

   • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the logistics division.

   • Monitor freight and shipping costs, ensure timely payments, and reconcile discrepancies.

3. Compliance & Reporting:

   • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.

   • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.

   • Assist with audits (internal and statutory) of logistics-related accounts.

4. Coordination & Communication:

   • Liaise with logistics vendors, transporters, and internal departments to resolve financial queries.

   • Support the logistics team with financial analysis for decision-making.

   • Maintain proper documentation and filing for all financial transactions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (CA/ICWA inter or equivalent is a plus).

• 2 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in logistics, supply chain, or operations.

• Strong knowledge of accounting software (Tally, SAP, ERP systems).

• Understanding of taxation, GST, and statutory compliance.

• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
