A Civil Engineer plans, designs, and oversees the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, dams, and water systems. They ensure projects are safe, cost-effective, environmentally responsible, and completed according to regulations and design specifications.
Design and develop civil engineering projects using technical drawings and plans
Conduct site inspections and surveys to assess conditions and feasibility
Prepare project cost estimates, schedules, and material requirements
Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations
Supervise construction activities and coordinate with contractors and other engineers
Analyze data and prepare reports, documentation, and technical presentations
Identify and solve engineering problems during planning and construction phases
Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Basic knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and materials
Ability to read and create technical drawings and specifications
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and math skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Experience with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
Knowledge of project management practices
